TTSC Online : About Us

Traditional Taekwondo Sports Centre (TTSC) is located in the heart of Melaka. The TTSC was formed by Master T.L. Loh (7th Dan) in 1984.

Master T.L. Loh has been involved in sports since childhood. And with his martial art family background, he has worked his way up in Taekwondo. He and his brother, Grandmaster T.K. Loh of Traditional Taekwondo Association (TTA) Scotland, learned Taekwondo together when they were young. He still practices Taekwondo today and is the Head Instructor of the TTSC which he formed. He is also a qualified National Referee, De-centralised National Coach, MTA Level 2 Taekwondo-Specified Instructor, Certified First Aider and was made Team Manager for the Malaysian Junior Squad at the 1st Asian Junior Taekwondo Championship held in Lukong Chang Hua, Chinese Taipei (2001). His skills are not only limited to Taekwondo, but he also has a variety of knowledge in other martial arts such as Chinese Kungfu, TaiChi and Silat. Master Loh’s training not only emphasises on skills of Taekwondo, he also stresses the need to educate his students on the philosophy of Taekwondo.

Recently, Master Loh was awarded an Appreciation Plague from the President of Kukkiwon, Grandmaster Uhm Woon Kyu, for his dedication in propagation of Taekwondo in Malaysia and the world handed by Grandmaster Park Hae Man. He also received Korean Calligraphy handed down by the founder of Taekwondo, the late Great Grandmaster Lee Won Kuk that symbolises the new generation of Taekwondo practitioners. See Seminar Gallery

When he first formed the TTSC, he only had about 20 members. But through rigorous hard work and effort, he persevered and now the TTSC has expanded throughout the Melaka town.

Master Loh has also trained many students who excelled to higher levels. His most successful trainee is Elaine Teoh ; two (2) times SEA Games Gold medallist (1999 & 2001), Korea Open Silver medallist and competed at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. She was also crowned the National Sportswoman Of The Year 2004.

Today, Master Loh is still running his BAKAT programme - training and bringing up potential players; some who have been selected for the national squad.

The TTSC is now concentrating on expanding the art of Taekwondo throughout Melaka.

MASTER T.L LOH HAS BEEN AWARDED THE LETTER OF COMMENDATION BY PRESIDENT OF KUKKIWON ON 11/09/2008 FOR HIS UNLIMITED EFFORTS OF SELF SACRIFICE TO BRING ABOUT THE DEVELOPEMENT AND POPULARIZATION OF TAEKWONDO AS A RESULT OF A GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROMOTION OF TAEKWONDO CULTURE.
